Dirty Dancing Charlotte Theatre reviews
Sexier than I imagined
Dirty Dancing coming back to SD for first time in 4 years, I had to go. Not the best stage presence, but his nickname slow-hand finally made sense. Played 17 songs, and had a few solos that smacked me right in the face while giving me a hug. Paid $115 for 20th row dead center, and I got what I paid for. Had 2 ladies singing back up and delivered on "Key to the highway", "Old Love", "Wonderful Tonight", "River Runs Deep", "Before you accuse me", and a mellow version of Layla. SRV, Hendrix are the top of my lists and I'm only 27 years old so I've never seen either of those legends. Overall he probably doesn't deliver and capitalize the way he used to, but the keyboardists that were playing with him were incredible, and Ginger Baker on drums make them all seem flawless. "Cocaine" was awesome and he ended with "Crossroads" which was a good choice. Hope to see him at least one or 2 more times before he is done, but this guy is a legend, and any music fan needs to see the 3-time rock n hall of famer.
